Hi folks,

On many silver coins historically used in China there are specific marks stamped into them. These marks come in various shapes and sizes. A study is being made on this by a dedicated society.

In the great subcontinent hand struck coins, in general silver rupees, also have a series of marks impressed on them. These can occur on the obverse, reverse and rim.

Data is to be collected from photographs of these coins so that a comprehensive data base can be built up for research purposes.

The full research team and details will be advised soon.
